28th PIRT Annual Meeting — Suva
The 28th Annual Meeting of the Pacific Islands Roundtable for Nature Conservation convenes Heads of Member organisations — or their delegated representatives — to review progress against the Pacific Islands Framework for Nature Conservation 2021–2025, approve the PIRT Annual Report 2025, and align the Roundtable's 2026 work plan.
This year's agenda is dominated by two strategic items: the consultation pathway for the next Pacific Islands Framework for Nature Conservation 2026–2030, and preparation for the 11th Pacific Islands Conference for Nature Conservation in Noumea (September 2026). Working group co-chairs report progress and surface coordination needs across NbSWG, NCWG, PACoN, SWG, PacNEL and PIP.
The meeting is hosted in person at Conservation International's Suva office, with full hybrid participation for Member representatives unable to travel. Sessions follow PIRT's standard governance: chaired by the PIRT Chair (Jacqueline Evans, WCS) and supported by the SPREP Secretariat including the Pacific Biodiversity Coordinator.
