Project overview
The project will strengthen IPLC-led, traditionally focused, conservation and management of high biodiversity areas in Fiji and the Cook Islands. Specifically, CI aims to strengthen institutional and technical capacity of IPLC leadership in Fiji Lau Group and Cook Islands Pa Enua (Outer Islands) to effectively support sustainable natural resource management, including by enhancing the effective integration of traditional knowledge and western science to support in co-management, identifying income generating opportunities for IPLCs through sustainable natural resources-based livelihoods, and improving ocean protection and management capacity.
