Project overview
CI worked with the MFMR CBRM division to strengthen community-based conservation and management of leatherback turtles in a 30-km coastline in southeastern Guadalcanal. The project aims to improve site-based conservation of leatherback turtles, including expanding the existing community network for leatherback turtle conservation areas.

Under MFMR’s leadership, the goal of this proposed project was to develop and implement a systematic approach to community-based conservation of leatherback turtles in the Solomon Islands focusing specifically on leatherback turtles in Mbota in Guadalcanal.
